Cora Linnane, BSc (Hons) Podiatry
Qualification & Education
Cora graduated from the National University of Ireland Galway with a BSc (Hons) Podiatry degree. She is a fully qualified podiatrist and is currently a member of the SCPI (Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists Ireland). She has completed a Practical Acupuncture for Podiatrists course and she received a SCP approved acupuncture certification.
Prior to working with Spectrum Health, she has two years of experience carrying out gait analysis and prescribing custom made orthotics.
As a podiatry student, Cora received her core training from Merlin Park Podiatry Clinic in Galway, where she was exposed to various clinic types, such as: routine podiatric care, vascular and neurological assessments, musculoskeletal assessment, wound care and Podopaediatrics.
Cora undertook an undergraduate research study entitled "A clinical audit of patient referral waiting times to Merlin Park Podiatry Clinic”. This audit showed significant differences between reason for referral and time waiting for that service, as well as a mean number of weeks waiting, which was quite interesting.
As part of her studies, she also gained experience in HSE Sligo/Leitrim, in private practice and in Tallaght Hospital Dublin, where she had the opportunity to work alongside a wide variety of other health care professionals in the multi-disciplinary team.
Cora strives to work both independently and as part of a team in a stimulating environment, with the opportunity to use her Podiatric knowledge and experience to help people and improve their quality of life.
Cora has a keen interest in biomechanics, orthotic prescription and routine podiatric care. She provides conservative treatment where possible, advising patients on appropriate footwear and adequate foot care and hygiene. Cora is committed to providing high quality of care to her patients in a kind, friendly manner.
