Qualification & Education
Alexandra is a fully qualified and registered Podiatrist. She graduated from Glasgow Caledonian University in 2006 with an honours degree in podiatry.
Alexandra has worked as a community specialist podiatrist in NHS Grampian for several years before returning to Ireland in 2011 to work for diabetes Ireland. Alexandra has a specialist interest in diabetes and has worked within various HSE clinics in both Cork and Kerry treating high risk patients. In addition, Alexandra has worked in private practice treating patients off all ages from 0-100.
Alexandra treats patients with medical conditions deeming them at high risk of foot complications e.g: diabetes, arthritis, neurological conditions such as parkinsons and MS, ischaemia conditions such as peripheral vascular disease and people who have cardiac diseases. She has experience in gait analysis and orthotic prescription along with general foot care including, corns callous, bunions, fungal infections and verruca.
Alexandra has a keen interest in preventative medicine and health education for patients to help avoid complications occurring in the first place.
